I met a guy who was 10 to 12 years older that what his profile showed. When I asked him about it he said it was no big deal. I stressed the fact that he LIED about his age...and he didn't care. Apparently the truth was not important. Apparently he was also married. I found out about that. He said they were separated and going to divorce. Several years later, they're still married.

If it were not that important, why not be truthful from the get go.

Many, many women on this site dissemble about their ages. Some - to their credit - inform their actual age in a first message. As in "My profile says I'm 35; I'm actually 45. If you are still interested . . . "

Others evidently persuade themselves that they "look" younger because they have previously received compliments along those lines. So they choose to go with an age that represents how old they think they look, rather than being honest about it.

Their actual age doesn't matter to me. But the apparent insecurity behind the misrepresentation is definitely off-putting.

The other very common dishonesty I have encountered is women misrepresenting their weight or body-type. In my most extreme example, a woman who was morbidly obese - no picture on her profile - described herself as "athletic". She followed up - unasked by me - with a picture that turned out to be a strikingly attractive friend of hers.

When I commented - over coffee - that she didn't look very much like her picture, she didn't miss a beat. "Oh, that's my friend." When I incredulously asked why she sent me a picture of her friend, came the reply: "Because she is much more beautiful than me."

She seemed genuinely surprised when I excused myself after finishing my coffee. As I was standing up, she asked me directly why I didn't want to have sex with her. Evidently, she had prior experience with men not caring about her blatant dishonesty, given her willingness to get naked with them.

At least it was an interesting conversation for me. I will talk to ANYone, but no thanks to anything beyond coffee, if I don't feel that I both like and respect the woman.

I don't understand it. I don't lie. My ages is right, my name is my marital status. I think the only thing I lie about is my name.

I don't understand why folk do it. Do they think that they'll never get found out? Or when they do, that you'll be so enamored by their cock that you just laugh...'haha...so your married and 10 year older, I don't mind, just stick your cock in me again for another magnificent 2 minutes 26 seconds...hurrah!'

True... If they are thousands of miles away, then they probably just want to maintain an illusion. With all due respect to them - I claim (in chats), that I am a gynecologist, when in actual fact - it's just a hobby... Yep.. Ok then.. Lol

Well I'd say I try to give complete honesty...but I'm thinking no one really believes I'm 96. Well, there was that one lady.

I understand why people do it, both men and women. But in the end, if you do actually meet up, it's going to come out. Easier for me just to be honest. Then I don't have to "remember" what i said.

Plus, if you lie about one thing, you'll lie about others. It becomes a cascade of non truths. Just too complicated in my opinion.

One reason to put inaccurate info for age is data security. These sites have been h@ck#d several times. It makes no sense to just hand out info that should be secure.

You know you said that on one of my posts, and I agree, it's the only real logical reason I've heard on here for lying about your age. Actually great thinking on your part.

But thinking about it...if you just changed your birth month and day..It would throw it off enough to not be able to tie it back to your real identity. Yeah, your age might be off by a few months...but nothing like, lets say my age. Just a thought.

To base something upon lies and deception - is generally is to ruin everything before it even had a chance to blossom... Facts and truth can be hard for some people, and for certain subjects. Age can be a hard subject for some people, and it can be a double-edged sword that can cut in either direction... Nobody likes the feel of the sting of rejection though - for just being whom they are..

But there some very selfish people whom only want what they want, and to them - lies deception can be a perfectly acceptable means for their person gain. Fibs, and little white lies though? There can be such a thing as understanding and forgiveness. But if you start undermining trust though, you can change things - and not likely for the better... But I suppose for some people, only that moment matters. But they just might not actually tell others anything about that though...

That is one possibility. However, if the month is off then the astrological info will be off. I have some belief in astrology so that isn't a good option for me. I vary the date a bit and the year is within 3 years so not like 10 or 15.

Sooo, you're not 96? Damn
